Absences

One of the top priorities for me as a teacher is to build a safe and collaborative learning environment. Excessive tardiness and unexecused absences inhibit your learning. Constantly catching up on work will make classtime less enjoyable and productive. If you must miss class due to one of the school's excused reasons, please check this website and the Google Classroom.

Per Perry's absence policy, the time students with excused absences have to make up an assignment is equivalent to the time they missed. In other words, if you miss two days of class, you have two days to turn in the work. If you missed Monday and Tuesday, you will have to make up the work on Wednesday and Thursday and turn it in at the beginning of class Friday.

EXCEPTION: Homework and notes that accompany the textbook chapter must be turned in on time or upon the student's immediate return to class. These assignments are given far in advance with ample time to complete.
