Bullying.

Bullying is a very serious and dangerous concern in too many high schools across the country today. Harassment of any kind is toxic to learning and ruins lives.

According to Perry High School's student handbook, "Here at Perry, we are committed to a safe learning environment for all students. If you have been a victim of bullying, or witnessed another student being bulled, please contact your guidance counselor." The guidance office has resources and tools for helping along with trained professionals dedicated to making our building a safer and happier place.

In my classroom, I will not tolerate any instance of any form of bullying at any time. Please only use positive language, compliment the work and effort of others, and report any instance of harassment or bullying. I refer students to the main office in cases where our learning environment has been endangered. I consider bullying such endangerment. Parents/guardians will be notified of any concerning situations that take place in the classroom.

On a more positive note, I hope that this class incorporates plenty of collaborative and communicative time for you as students. If students adhere to policies against bullying and stay on task, the class will involve much more group and partner work.

Let's have a safe and enjoyable year with positive attitudes and kind words.
