Grades -

About grades:

Grades should be reflective of the skills and knowledge acquired in this classroom. As a student, you and I will work together throughout the unit preparing for a final assessment of the unit's content and skills. It is my strong belief that grades must be an accurate summary of what you have accomplished. Participation, attendance, and effective time management will improve your grade as we explore government topics. Integrated Government and Modern World History are GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS.

The grading scale

The following is Perry High School's grading scale. This is the scale that will be used in this course.

A    94-100

A-   91-93

B+  88-90

B    84-87

B-   81-83

C+  78-80

C    74-77

C-   71-73

D+  68-70

D    64-67

D-   61-63

F     60

The grading formula:

Please be aware that 80% of your grade each unit will be determined by assessments and 20% will be determined by formative tasks, like pop quizzes, homework assignments, or in-class work. The effort you put in each day will help you learn the material. Your grade is not determined by participation, completion, or neatness. It is determined by your demonstration of knowledge and skills mastered in this course. Try your best every time and you will succeed in this class.
