Welcome, Parents!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am very excited to be teaching American government, modern world history, and AP European History. We will be working at full capacity to master government and history content information. Furthermore, my sincerest hope is that the students focus on building their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in this course before they venture on to higher education, careers, and community service. Professionalism and 21st century communication, organization, and technological skills will also be refined in this class.
Participation in this class requires effort, respect, and motivation. The highest priority is safety. Any forms of bullying, harassment or disrespectful and unsafe behaviors will be met with consequences as outlined by school policy. Parents or guardians will be contacted if a student is not demonstrating effort or has conducted him/herself in an inappropriate manner.
I have asked your child to provide a point of contact’s email and phone number. I believe that the classroom should be a transparent environment in partnership with an active and informed community. I use contact information to address concerns as well as express my appreciation for students who are working hard to develop their strengths and improve their abilities as lifelong learners. MODERN WORLD HISTORY AND AMERICAN GOVERNMENT ARE REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION – so stay up-to-date with your child’s studies and ask them lots of questions!
